I don’t know many people who don’t like French fries. Of course, I know people who don’t eat them because they have a lot of fat. Or they don’t make them at home because of the frying hassle.

In our family, we have all the above. My eldest son does not eat potatoes at all. He doesn’t like the taste of potatoes at all, not even carrots, from a very early age. For my other son, French fries are his favorite food. My husband likes them and can eat a regular portion just by himself. And I can eat as many as I find in front of me, but I don’t like frying in general, and because of the fat, I don’t eat often.

But I found the solution!!!

French fries in the oven with just a little oil!!! No frying at all!!! Make them either in sticks or in rings.

 salt

1

Turn on the oven at 250°C / 480°F at air.

2

Clean and cut the potatoes as normally do for frying.

3

Put them in a small bowl, seasoning them if you want, put the oil and mix them very well (with hands) so that the oil goes everywhere.

4

Spread a sheet of parchment paper on a baking pan and spread them out.

5

Put them in the oven and as soon as they are slightly golden browned, turn them on the other side. There is no need to turn them all one by one. Turn them with a spatula. The ones that won't turn, will simply become more golden brown.

6

When they turn golden brown on the other side too, French fries are ready!

Baked Gluten Free French Fries
  • You can add a little more oil, and again they will have less oil than the frying one.
  • It is not necessary to put parchment paper on the pan, but helps not to be stick at pan and no need to scrub the pan for hours.
  • You can use the grill at the end to make them crispier, but BE CAREFUL with the grill you must not have an parchment paper. The pan must be metal. Also pyrex, fireproof ceramic, etc. do not withstand the grill and break.
  • These potatoes are eaten immediately. I don’t know if they can be eaten after hours and of course if they will be tasty for hours. Leftovers French fries never happened to me. 🙂

Good Luck and Bon Appétit!!!
