Holidays are over and we are slowly returning to our normal everyday life. By normal I simply mean life as it was before the Christmas season, although this year we experienced a completely different reality than the one we used to have the previous years. A combination of the covid19 pandemic, and a weather that doesn’t feel like a cold winter as we know it!
Welcome 2021 and we all hope and wish you to be good to us!
Are you one of those people who always put on weight during Christmas holidays? And how can someone resist to all the temptations around you, when the kourabiedes, melomakarona and pies don’t let you spend a day in peace without whispering to you: “come take me, try me today and see if I still have the sweetness you know.”
You’re usually either the “kourabiedes” or the “melomakarona” type, so there’s always a surplus of one of the two in every home. In my family we are divided in two and there will be either nothing left, or everything left over, because we may have made or bought a lot! If you are like me and you also make tons of sweets, then you’ll definitely have sweets left over. There’s no reason to throw them away! We insist on Zero Food Waste, we don’t throw anything away! We recycle them by making new ones that will be gone in an instant! If again, you didn’t have any left over, then seeing these recipes you might sit down and make new ones, just to make these sweet recipes:
From Leftovers Melomakarona, you can make Quick & Easy Gluten Free Truffles (see the recipe here)
You will turn the Leftovers of Kourabiedes into an Quick & Easy Cheesecake (see the recipe here)
From Leftovers of Christmas Cookies, such as Gingerbread, Melomakarona & Kourabiedes into Chocolate Festive Log! (see the recipe here)
And if you have leftover of Vasilopita, whether it’s bread, cake or pie, make delicious Cariocas – Greek Walnut-filled Chocolates (see the recipe here)
Good Luck and Bon Appétit!!!
