Yes Yes Yes! Just as you read it on the title, it takes less than 8 minutes to make this amazing cake, which has no sugar at all. The glaze is optional to give it another texture and maybe a touch of more sweetness for all of us who like everything very sweet.

Of course, instead of a simple chocolate couverture, you can add chocolate with sweeteners such as stevia. Also, you can skip the butter in glaze. I tried it both with and without butter and I can’t say that there was much of a difference in taste. But in terms of calories, was 😉

Bananas, eggs and cocoa are usually available at any home, so let’s go to the kitchen for 8 minutes to prepare an “innocent” dessert!

 2 bananas peeled and sliced
 2 eggs
 4 tbsp cocoa powder
 ½ tsp baking powder
for glaze (optional)
 50 g chocolate couverture
 40 ml milk
 15 g butter (you can skip it because it doesn't make too much of a difference)

Abbreviations: g=grams kg= kilograms cup=250 ml tsp= teaspoon=5 ml  tbsp= tablespoon=3 tsp=15 ml ml= millilitre= (1ml=0.034 fl oz / 1fl oz=29.6 ml) l=litre/liter=1000ml

Put all the ingredients in a food processor/ blender.

We beat them until it becomes a fluid dough.

Empty the contents into a fireproof dish with a diameter of Ø12cm /5” . I used a ceramic Greek yogurt container.

Put it in the microwave for about 6 minutes. At my microwave oven need it 5:30'

Put all the ingredients for the glaze in a bowl and put it in the microwave for 30"sec to 60" sec.

Mix it so that the ingredients are homogenized and pour it on ready cake.

8-minute Flourless Sugar & Gluten Free Chocolate Cake
  • Choose ripe bananas, almost blackened if you like. Because the riper the bananas are, the sweeter our cake will be!
  • The microwave oven should be the one that rotates (go round) the dish.
